Helping Cut The Queues At SSP

A complete solution

Working with multiple brands for SSP has provided a great opportunity to showcase the benefit of, a comprehensive and centrally managed content management solution. This, coupled with a clear content strategy, has meant that wherever the digital screens are installed, they are measured and deliver a real operational benefit.

At a store level, the benefits are clear, with menus being updated automatically and managed remotely. Store managers can be provided with specific store control when required, meaning changes can be made when needed and done quickly.

All the units across the SSP estate are supported by Trison UK content and technical teams with a wide array of technical assistance and content updates when required. We are proud to continue this successful relationship and the ongoing rollout for multiple brands with SSP.

We have been proud partners with SSP Group since 2008, supporting the digital menus throughout Burger King franchise stores which they operate across transport hubs in the UK and Ireland; as well as across numerous SSP brands such as Upper Crust, Cafe Ritazza, Paul Hollywood’s Knead, James Martin Kitchen and Pasty Shop.

Upper Crust has driven much of the digital engagement and now has digital screens installed at the majority of its sites. Our content design and strategy development has delivered a measurable and significant uplift in store performance.

The roll-out continues, with more adventurous and dynamic display canvases being developed.

Uppercrust & Ritazza

Following the success with Burger King, the rollout moved on to the Upper Crust brand. The goal was to to bring the food from behind the counter displays and promote the value and choice available for the benefit of the customers, using animation in a clear and appetising way.

At transport hubs, where speed is everything, helping customers to make a well-informed purchasing decision – especially when new or seasonal offers are available – was a key driver behind the digital screen’s success. Once the digital customer experience helped connect customers even more to the food on offer, SSP were able to see a direct and clear benefit for the stores with digital technology installed.

The use of Trison's digital technology helped drive greater speed of service and freed up the staff working in the units to focus on customer service and engagement instead of worrying about updating traditional printed menus and promotions.

Simplicity, clarity with a focus on better customer engagement were the standards of success on which the solution was, and continues to be, measured.

With Upper Crust as an ongoing success, further digital screens have been installed and planned for future sites at the Ritazza coffee shops – all managed by SSP.

Delice de France

Trison have worked with SSP on many stores at most of the UK stations and airports, and the Delice de France brand was able to benefit from the Trison UK experience.

With key locations at busy airports and stations, Starbucks is one of the latest brands managed by SSP to deploy digital screens.

Pasty Shop

Found in many of the stations across the UK, The Pasty Shop is another SSP brand successfully deploying digital screens and promotional displays. Often in smaller units, the Trison team were successfully challenged to make the very most of the space, and to help the customer with the quick purchasing decision.

Transport hub bars & pubs

SSP also manage most of the bars and pubs found at transport locations in the UK, such as The Merchant Liverpool Street Station and The Grain Loft at Manchester Airport. A variety of solutions are being used at these bars and restaurants, moving the model of digital screens and promotional displays forward in interesting new ways.

International locations

SSP is a global brand and Trison UK has been happy to support with digital screens outside of the UK and Ireland, such as at Schiphol Airport and recently in Tel Aviv. The centralised menu management has meant that the addition of these sites has been a seamless process for the SSP team.
